Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart suffered an ankle injury while playing for the USA Select Team in a scrimmage against Team USA, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

He left the game to get treatment.

The exact details of Stewart’s injury are currently unknown and if he will be forced to withdraw from training camp.

The 20-year-old is the second USA Select Team member to get injured in a scrimmage along with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, who sprained his ankle.

Stewart, who was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, averaged 7.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 68 games.

NBA training camp starts Sept. 28 and the 2021-22 season tips off on Oct. 19, so both Stewart and Edwards will have time to rest and recover from their injuries.
