The Portland Trail Blazers suffered heartbreak in the 2000 Western Conference Finals against the Lakers, as they came back from being down 3-1 only to blow a 15 point 4th quarter lead in Game 7. The club was very disappointed, as Portland knew this was most likely their best shot at winning a championship. Former Trail Blazer Damon Stoudamire says he still vividly remembers the pain of losing Game 7 to this day.

“I still remember man, I can’t believe when we lost that lead to the Lakers. Grown a** man, I cried like a baby. All the way from LA back to Portland, I cried like a baby. It was just so crazy. I know Staples was young at that time, but I felt like there was an earthquake in that place.”
