Former NBA champion Ben Wallace brought luck to the Detroit Pistons. He was selected to represent his former team during the NBA Draft Lottery and the Pistons got the number one pick after 51 years.

After the lottery, the four-time Defensive Player of the Year shared his thoughts on the league today. Wallace was confident that he would fit in very well in the modern game due to his size.

“My game would be tailor-made for today’s game. In my prime, I was that guy on the floor out of place because of my size … the game was build for giants,” he said, per Rod Beard.

Wallace also echoed a sentiment shared by many former NBA players. The freshly inducted Hall of Famer thinks that the NBA is softer than it was in the past. “I think the game has gotten a little bit soft,” Wallace said.
