Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has committed to join the 12-man Team USA roster for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, his agent told Adrian Wojnarowski.

Adebayo joins Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal, Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green and Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum as initial pledges for the roster.

Adebayo, 23, participated with Team USA in preparation for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, but he did not make the final roster.

In 64 games this season, the rising star averaged 18.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 block per game.

Team USA’s 12-man roster is expected to be set in late June and training camp begins on July 6 in Las Vegas led by head coach Gregg Popovich.

The group stage of the men’s Olympic basketball tournament will take place from July 25 to Aug. 1, with the knockout round taking place from Aug. 3-7.
