The Los Angeles Lakers will need their best effort later today as they face elimination in Game 6 against the Phoenix Suns. Anthony Davis, who is listed as questionable for the game, is a key piece for the defending NBA champions.

The 28-year-old star forward missed Game 5, which ended with the Lakers getting crushed by 30 points by the Suns. Davis says he is focused on treating his groin injury and is doing everything to be available for Game 6.

“It’s tough. Especially last night watching the game and not being be to help the team on the floor. It’s the toughest part,” he said. “Knowing that I couldn’t contribute, my body just wouldn’t allow me to.

“As far as tomorrow I obviously want to. I’m still waiting to get medically cleared with the groin. Obviously I’m doing everything treatment around the clock. Issue’s with me all the time with the treatment and the exercises and the rehab stuff to see if everything is green for me to go on the court tomorrow.”

Davis averaged 21.8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists over four playoff games thus far.
