Philadelphia 76ers will have the home court advantage until at least the Eastern Conference Finals after their 122-97 win against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
The Sixers secured the first seed due to Joel Embiid’s great season, playing alongside a well-rounded team with Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris.
The franchise secured the leading record in the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2001, when Allen Iverson led the team to the NBA Finals vs. the powerful Lakers.
The team will enter the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season after concluding ‘The Process’ in 2016 by drafting Ben Simmons.
After an early first round exit last season, the franchise, led by Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey, will try to help bring Philadelphia its first championship since 1983. Their postseason journey begins on May 22.
