The Washington Wizards handed the Los Angeles Lakers their 26th loss of the season as they defeated the reigning NBA champions at Capital One Arena 116-107.

After winning the first quarter by four points, the Lakers lost the second and third quarters by a total of 17 points which complicated their chances of coming out victorious.

“We just got in a funk in that second quarter and into the third,” Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said postgame. “We’ll look at the tape and figure out where we went wrong. But we definitely had some droughts that put us at a deficit and probably cost us the game.

“Just honor our work, continue to look at the ways these pieces are fitting together and do better next time.”

The Lakers will now play three straight home games against Sacramento, Toronto and Denver. They will play six out their next eight games at home.

If the Clippers game is considered a home game, as both teams play at Staples Center, then the Lakers will play just one away game out of the next eight games.
