Nikola Jokic gave out a plea in his fellow NBA players to protect each other amid widespread injury woes around the league.

The Nuggets’ superstar chipped in the situation, after several teammates of his in Denver went down with injuries, while Jamal Murray is sidelined for the rest of the season.

“The injuries are all around the league. I don’t know what’s happening,” Jokic said prior to the game vs. Rockets, per Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports.

“I think we need to, first of all, protect each other on the floor, because we are eating the same bread…We can play hard and compete but I think we can play kind of safer.”

At the top of Murray missing the season and Barton being out indefinitely, it’s still unclear when Monte Morris, the Nuggets’ primary backup point guard, will be back in action.

However, Denver still looks a prime candidate for a deep postseason run with Nikola Jokic having a great year being the favorite to win the MVP award this season.
