The Brooklyn Nets reacted to the decision of LaMarcus Aldridge to retire from the NBA, due to a heart problem.
In a statement released on Thursday, Nets GM Sean Marks says the team fully supports Aldridge’s decision, as his ‘health and well being are far more important than the game of basketball’.
For his part, Aldridge announced his retirement after playing with an irregular heartbeat last week.
“You never know when something will come to an end, so make sure you enjoy it every day. I can truly say I did just that,” Aldridge, a 15-year NBA veteran, said in his letter.
