New Orleans Pelicans’ newly acquired point guard Isaiah Thomas won’t make his debut versus the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

The Pelicans signed the veteran guard to a 10-day contract earlier this week. Thomas will be able to join the team on Monday as he is on NBA’s health and safety.

Thomas has not played in the NBA since mid-February 2020. The 32-year-old averaged 12.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 40.8% overall and 41.3% from deep with the Wizards last season.

Thomas experienced many setbacks, largely due to injuries, but he is hoping to return to form and land a full-time contract in New Orleans.
