Isaiah Thomas joined the New Orleans Pelicans being a member of an NBA team for the first time since a part of the 2019-20 season, where he spent in Washington for the Wizards.

Thomas, who made his first comments as a member of the Pelicans Tuesday, had nothing but praise for New Orleans fellow guard Lonzo Ball.

“You can just tell the confidence is on another level. He’s not thinking twice about his jump shot. Obviously his jumper is looking a lot better than it did when he first came into the league. My job is to pour more confidence into him, to continue to be aggressive. Last game was amazing, seeing the pep in his step. He felt like he was going to take good shots and make good shots.”

Ball exploded for a career-high eight threes on Sunday vs. the Rockets to lead his team to the win. Thomas and Ball shared the floor earlier in their careers as part of the 2017-18 Los Angeles Lakers.

Due to injuries, both players were limited to just 13 games and 242 minutes together on the floor. Now, the duo has the chance to share the floor again for the Pelicans, who are in desperate need guards and healthy bodies.
