LaMarcus Aldridge will find his way to a contending team as he finalized a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Aldridge became a free agent giving back $7.25 million in a contract buyout. The Miami Heat are a strong candidate for the veteran forward, who was due $24M this season.

The Spurs obviously could not find a team to deal Aldridge at the trade deadline. Aldridge played in just 21 games this season, averaging 13.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

The seven-time All-Star is expected to be a hot name in the buyout market with the Heat adding another veteran star today via trade.

More specifically, Miami traded for Houston Rockets’ guard Victor Oladipo to add to their core alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
