Orlando Magic could be in the market to acquire a top-quality point guard ahead of the trade deadline. The Magic are severely underperforming, being 14th in the East standings after falling to a 13-26 record this season.

Kemba Walker could be on their list considering he’s favored by head coach Steve Clifford. According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Magic would love to add Walker to their ranks.

However, Boston is unlikely to move the All-Star guard, due to their lack of depth in guard position. Orlando pursued a trade for Ricky Rubio recently, Mannix wrote.

“The Magic have been looking for point guard help, kicking the tires on Ricky Rubio recently. Celtics guard Kemba Walker remains a favorite of Magic coach Steve Clifford, but it’s unlikely Boston, without much depth behind Walker, will part with him at this point.”

With Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony out indefinitely due to injury, the Orlando Magic could benefit from the presence of a veteran guard, who can provide leadership and playmaking.
