The Dallas Mavericks returned to action after the All-Star break with a win against the San Antonio Spurs, which was the fourth straight victory for the Mavs. Kristaps Porzingis led the winners in points and rebounds with 28 and 14, respectively.
The Latvian forward, whose name was featured in trade rumors in recent weeks, was happy with the win and thought that Dallas is moving in the right direction.
“Sometimes it takes confidence to take a day off and just rest, rest your body rest your mind,” Porzingis said postgame. “Because I love working, I love going in getting shots, lifting and that all. Sometimes it’s important for me to remind to have a balance in everything. Took some time off in a break and I’m back feeling good, feeling fresh, ready to go.”
“We realized we’re not where we want to be defensively. It’s a conscious effort that we’re doing. I’m trying to transmit that energy, trying to do as much as I can defensively. I think we’re on the right path. Moving in the right direction.”
