Damian Lillard was not happy with the referees, after the 111-118 loss to the Washington Wizards on Saturday. The Blazers’ superstar claimed the officials constantly treat him unfairly.

“I’m going to the rim getting smacked in the head. I’m getting grabbed. Getting slapped on the arms. Getting pushed in the back. I mean, that’s the frustrating thing for me. I’m not out here flopping and trying to trick the referees or things like that. I’m trying to score and getting hit in the head.”

Damian Lillard averages 7.8 attempts from the free-throw line this season making them in a 93 percent clip. Despite being among the best in getting free throws, his aggressiveness may not be rewarded by the referees every time.

“I’m trying to have conversations about it, and I’m getting slick looks and kind of like sarcastic answers or just dry answers. That’s frustrating,” the Weber State product said.

Lillard is amidst an MVP type of season averaging 30.0 points, 7.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per contest leading the Blazers to an 18-11 record.

On Saturday, the Blazers’ superstar had 35 points, 12 assists and six rebounds, but they weren’t enough for Portland as its six-game winning streak came to an end.
