The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will face off on Saturday for one of the greatest NBA rivalries. It will also be a game between two former teammates, Tristan Thompson and LeBron James, who won a championship together in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Thompson is looking forward to playing against James and is expecting a ‘bloodbath’. “I’m excited of course. I think it’s a cup half full because there’s no fans in the arena.

I think that’s what makes the rivalry or the series even greater because you have all walks of life the history of Massachusetts and Boston fans in the arena whether it’s a young kid that watched Jaylen have a big dunk against Bron. Or someone older like my parents that watched Magic and Bird.”

“It’s always fun. At the end of the day he’s the best player on the planet and obviously one of the greatest players to ever play the game. To go against another great player in Boston wearing the green and him wearing the Lakers gold. It’s going to be a bloodbath.”

The Celtics lead the all-time series against the Lakers 204–162. For regular season, it is 161–131 in favor of Boston. The Lakers enter the game as the third-placed team in the Western Conference with 14 wins and 6 losses. Meanwhile, the Celtics are fourth in the East with a 10-7 record.
