Veteran forward and seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson is planning to play for Team USA at the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson, 39, last played in the Big3, a three-on-three league for former players.

He last played in the NBA in the 2017-2018 season, where he played 55 games for the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

Isaiah Thomas has also committed to play for Team USA, which will be a great opportunity for him to make a case for a return to the NBA after undergoing hip surgery in May 2020.

In the upcoming final qualifying window, Team USA will play the Bahamas on Feb. 19 and Mexico on Feb. 20.

The Americans have already qualified for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022, as they are 4-0 in Group D.
