The Denver Nuggets were interested in acquiring Victor Oladipo before joining the Houston Rockets via trade. Oladipo was part of the James Harden deal, after Houston decided to trade Caris LeVert to the Pacers for the veteran guard.

According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, the 28-year-old guard is not off the table in case Denver decides to make a move and give up a young asset.

“Whether they can find something suitable depends on whether there are any takers for Gary Harris, who recently has started hitting from outside again. At that point, the Nuggets need to ask themselves if they believe Harris’ shooting is sustainable…

The name I’d watch is Victor Oladipo. I know the Nuggets considered him before the Pacers traded him to Houston. Oladipo is on an expiring deal. Would Houston be interested in Harris plus a prospect for Oladipo?”

Oladipo has an encouraging start in his Houston career averaging 27.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his first two games with his new team.

His shooting is not quite there yet, however in a scenario where Oladipo is getting traded to Nuggets he will have an elite passer alongside him to find easier shots in the offense.

Of course, the same can be said for a Rockets’ team, which is waiting for John Wall, also an excellent creator to get back to the court next week.
