Christian Wood revealed he circled the upcoming games against the Los Angeles Lakers having the chance to go up against Anthony Davis.

The Houston Rockets big man explained his plan to give a special performance against the Lakers’ superstar. Following Friday’s win against the Magic, Wood is preparing for the double-header against the LA Lakers.

Wood dominated against the Orlando Magic Friday night with 22 points and 15 rebounds in just 29 minutes. The Rockets annihilated their injury-ravaged opponents 132-90.

“There’s a few games that I’ve circled on the calendar… and playing against [Anthony Davis] and the Lakers is definitely a game I circled. He’s a guy I’ve watched, with his moves. In my head, it’s going to be a fun matchup, and I’m going to go at him with everything I’ve got.”

The Rockets’ big is considered a ‘steal’ after signing a three-year, $41M contract with Houston in the past offseason. The 6’10” forward/center is the only Rockets player to have scored 20+ points in every outing this season.

Throughout five games in the 2020/21 season campaign Wood is averaging 23.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.
