Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to the 124-117 OT win over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. The Mavs’ superstar flirted with the triple-double putting up 38 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds.
Doncic spoke on the learning experience of closing out a game the last two seasons and how he learned to cop with such games during clutch time.
“Like I said the last two seasons, we’re going to learn from those things … I’ve got to be a leader in those moments,” Doncic said.
Maxi Kleber also had a huge part in the Mavericks’ win as he made the shot that put Dallas up by two with 3.3 seconds before the end of regulation.
However, Jokic answered with a step-back jumper to force the overtime. During overtime, Jason Richardson and Luka Doncic took over the game scoring 13 of the 15 Mavs’ points in OT.
