The Brooklyn Nets prevailed in a scoring shootout against the red-hot Atlanta Hawks thanks to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, who combined for 30 points in the fourth quarter.

The Nets’ head coach Steve Nash called the victory over the conference rivals a “gut check” and stated that he ‘definitely need a beer after this one’.

The Nets put a stop to a two-game losing streak to improve to 3-2 as Durant finished with 33 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and two free throws in the last second to ice the game.

Brooklyn conceded less than 100 points in their first two wins of the season, but against Atlanta, the game went more to the offensive side.

The Nets secured the victory on Wednesday, but Steve Nash certainly wants a better performance in the defensive side for Friday’s rematch against the Atlanta Hawks.
