The Houston Rockets’ new signing Christian Wood is leaving a good impression for his new teammate DeMarcus Cousins. The four-time All-Star center sees similarities between Wood and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis.
Wood made his preseason debut for Houston in their last game against the San Antonio Spurs. The 25-year-old power forward ended as the top scorer for the Rockets with 27 points in 24 minutes. He also grabbed 10 rebounds.
After the game, Cousins shared his thoughts on Wood, saying he has the potential to become a player of Davis’ caliber.
Per Jonathan Feigen of Houston Chronicle:
“He has a lot of similarities to Anthony Davis in LA. The height, the ability to guard all five positions, just the versatility on both ends of the floor. Obviously, I’m not saying he’s the same player as AD, but he definitely has the potential to become a player of that caliber. That’s our job to help bring that out.”
