The third night of NBA Preseason saw Kevin Durant back in action. A lot of young players looked very improved for 2021, especially Talen Horton-Tucker.
Cole Anthony: The rookie looked impressive making plays and scoring. Anthony has the chance to make a nice impact for Orlando right away. 16 points, 4 assists
Khem Birch: The big man plays hard every night for the Magic. Can be counted on off the bench. 6 points, 5 rebounds
De’Andre Hunter: Hunter looks better in a number of areas. The Hawks young core learned quite a bit last season. 15 points, 7 rebounds
Troy Brown Jr: Brown is still only 21-years-old with some good experience. Underrated playmaker for Washington. 14 points, 5 assists
Deni Avdija: Deni had a very efficient preseason debut, going perfect from the field. The overseas rookie showed some NBA ready strength on drives. 15 points, 4 rebounds
Raul Neto: The veteran point guard is dependable off the bench. Had some quality drives and passes last night. 17 points, 6 assists
Moritz Wagner: Wagner is known as a big man who can shoot the ball from three. He’s hoping to expand his game this season. 13 points, 7 rebounds
Garrison Mathews: Matthews shot 41.3% from three last season in limited time. A streaky scorer who can get going. 10 points, 2 3’s
Cassius Winston: The first-year point guard out of Michigan State made some heads up plays. Has a great basketball IQ for a rookie. 6 points, 3 assists
Reggie Perry: The late 2nd round pick brings energy to the floor. Played hard last night on both ends. 5 points, 7 rebounds
Chris Chiozza: Chiozza is a small guard off the bench who can shoot and make plays. Has had some nice runs since being undrafted in 2018. 8 points, 2 3’s
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot: The Frenchman shot it great from deep during the bubble. The Nets have a solid bench from top to bottom. 11 points, 2 rebounds
Alec Burks: Burks brings veteran leadership to the Knicks. He can be trusted for New York this season no matter what role. 15 points, 3 3’s
Mitchell Robinson: Robinson played a lot better in the Knicks second preseason game. He’s a double-double threat whenever he’s on the floor. 8 points, 5 rebounds
Delon Wright: Wright will be counted on as a playmaker for Detroit this season. His playmaking skills can help rookie Killian Hayes not feel too much pressure. 6 points, 2 assists
Sekou Doumbouya: The versatile youngster had quite the game last night. He’s a player with a lot of potential for the Pistons future. 23 points, 5 rebounds
Josh Jackson: Jackson seems to have found a fit in Detroit. His jumper from three-point land looks improved. 9 points, 3 3’s
Ben McLemore: Ben’s a reliable shooter who can fill it up when he gets hot. The veteran has played well in Houston since joining in 2019. 10 points, 2 3’s
Kenyon Martin Jr: The son of former Net Kenyon Martin brought some nice energy last night. Coach Stephen Silas should help his development as a player. 5 points, 3 rebounds
David Nwaba: Nwaba has been consistent on every team he’s been to. Brings quality experience to the Rockets. 11 points, 4 steals
Coby White: The second-year point guard looks ready to make big strides in 2021. Look for White’s numbers to go up in a number of categories. 20 points, 4 3’s
Daniel Gafford: Gafford is a great shot blocker with high potential. Started in 7 games last season and had some nice moments. 4 points, 2 blocks
Chandler Hutchison: Hutchison was having a good season before his injury last year. Expect more improvement in 2021. 6 points, 8 rebounds
Terance Mann: Mann made some smart passes last night. Can score, rebound and get assists. 10 points, 5 assists
Jordan Ford: Undrafted point guard with a nice feel for the game. Had a stellar college career at St.Mary’s. 4 points, 3 assists
Rayjon Tucker: Tucker is an athlete who can make plays for the Clippers. He looked improved on Sunday. 6 points, 2 assists
Daniel Oturu: The rookie big man has been very efficient in a short amount of minutes. Oturu hasn’t missed a shot from the field in two preseason games. 4 points, 2 rebounds
Talen Horton-Tucker: Horton-Tucker was by far the best player of Sunday night’s action. He took it to the Clippers and looks on a mission this season. 33 points, 10 rebounds
Quinn Cook: Cook provides solid point guard minutes when needed. Played a lot last night and had a number of assists. 14 points, 7 assists
Tyrese Haliburton: The rookie playmaker has an impressive basketball IQ. He made some passes on Sunday that looked like a veteran point guard. 11 points, 7 assists
Kyle Guy: Guy is a known three-point threat and high percentage free throw shooter. The Sacramento guard has underrated playmaking skills.14 points, 3 3’s
Glenn Robinson III: Robinson knows what works for him and plays the right way. Now with the Kings, he shot the ball 40% from three with Golden State.11 points, 6 rebounds
Chimezie Metu: Metu brings great potential to the Kings. Showed some nice signs with the Spurs. 11 points, 4 rebounds
Derrick Jones Jr: Jones started again on Sunday and contributed nicely. The Trail Blazers have a very deep team this season. 15 points, 6 rebounds
Harry Giles: Giles doesn’t stop playing hard. A double-double threat whenever he gets minutes. 19 points, 13 rebounds
Gary Trent Jr: Trent has looked solid so far in preseason. The game looks a lot easier for him. 17 points, 3 3’s
