The Golden State Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr shared his impression from James Wiseman’s first 5-on-5 practice. The rookie big showcased the ability to use his physical attributes effectively against his opponents.

According to Drew Shiller of NBC Sports:

“He was playing with huge energy – flying around everywhere. A couple guys came off the floor and just shook their heads like, ‘Man. This guy is massive,'” Kerr said.

Wiseman was not available for the first game of preseason due to COVID-19 NBA protocols. According to Kerr, the second overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft might make his debut in the finale of Warriors’ preseason schedule Thursday.

The Memphis native is going to be an important part of Kerr’s plan this season, as the Warriors are going to have a starting-caliber center since Andrew Bogut played for the Bay Area franchise.
