Marc Gasol shared his thoughts on the desire of his brother Pau Gasol to return to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Marc Gasol said his brother should focus on his health first and then decide on a possible return to the Lakers.

“First and foremost, Pau has to be healthy and has to continue to stay healthy throughout the process of rehabbing. Building that endurance, building on that continuous impact on his foot on his bone. It’s going to be crucial and the only way you know that is through playing.

I think he has to find a way to play a little bit to see how his body reacts to that. I think that should be the main focus right now instead of where he’s going to play. More important is his health and how he feels and how his body reacts to the workload,” Marc Gasol told reporters, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Daily.

Pau Gasol spent six years with the Lakers (2008-2014), winning the NBA title twice (2009, 2010). He has not played in the league since 2019, due to a foot injury.

For his part, Marc Gasol agreed to a two-year, $5,25M deal with the Lakers.
