Former NBA superstar Gilbert Arenas has long been a healthy source of basketball smarts and it appears he also has coaching aspirations, having requested an internship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The ex-guard revealed as much during the latest episode of his No Chill with Gilbert Arenas podcast. The show airs at 8pm ET/PT on the fubo Sports Network; here’s a clip of Arenas recalling his conversation with the four-time MVP.
Arenas noted LeBron’s told him he will speak to Lakers Vice President of Basketball Operations and general manager Rob Pelinka about having him join the team’s championship coaching staff as an intern. Of course, we will have to wait and see if that happens but it’s certainly an intriguing prospect.
