Kawhi Leonard shared a story about how he recruited his former teammate Serge Ibaka to the Los Angeles Clippers. The two players were part of the 2019 NBA champions Toronto Raptors.
According to Leonard, he was straight forward with Ibaka and texted him a clear question whether he will be coming to join him in LA.
“I don’t know what I told him but I talk to Serge here and there FaceTime all the time. Once free agency came, I sent him a text and told him clear as day: “You coming here or not?” Kawhi said. “I ain’t got time to be telling you all the things that LA has. He knows what I’m about and what I’m trying to do as far as playing for our organization. That was my text: ‘Are you coming or not?'”
