The Washington Wizards have selected 6-foot-9 Israeli swingman Deni Avdija with the No. 9 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Avdija, the first lottery pick from Israel, was projected to be taken as high as the top five, but fell to the Wizards, who reportedly had him high on their draft board.
The 19-year-old was considered by many to be the top international prospect in this year’s draft.
