The Los Angeles Lakers entered the NBA bubble in a rather comfortable position as they sat at the top of the Western Conference. They were close to clinching the number one spot in the West with several regular season games left to play.

In a recent interview, Lakers point guard Alex Caruso admitted that he was anxious with whether his team could flip the switch for the playoffs after they defeated the Clippers.

The Lakers were indeed able to turn the upper gear in the playoffs as they won their seventeenth title, losing just five games in the entire playoffs.

“After we won the first game against the Clippers in the bubble, I think the human nature of, ‘Alright, we locked up the No. 1 seed, we’re going to rest some guys, we’re going to make sure we’re all healthy going in,'” Caruso said on The Old Man and the Three podcast with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter as transcribed by Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation.

“But for me, I’m a play every game, play every minute the same way kind of guy. For me, on the inside, I was having some anxiety. I was just like, ‘Come on guys. Can we get it going?’ I remember having that conversation with myself. I was like, ‘I hope we can turn it on.'”
