NBA veteran Corey Brewer shared his experiences in guarding the league’s superstars such as LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden including the reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
According to Brewer, Giannis is unstoppable inside the paint and you cannot let him drive to the basket. The only way to effectively guard him is to force him to take jump shots, with which he struggles. However, Brewer thinks that it is just a matter of time until Antetokounmpo adds jump shot to his arsenal.
“I’m glad he can’t shoot because if he was a knockdown shooter, he would be unguardable. Literally unguardable. But he is improving. Even his post game is getting better. When it comes to the Euro steps, athleticism and getting to the rim, that’s easy for him. Once he gets a jump shot — and he’s gonna get it because he works his butt off — we’re gonna see his game go to another level,” Brewer shared his experience on Basketball Network.
