The Los Angeles Clippers were touted by many as one of the top favorites to win it all this season. The additions of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were supposed bring them their first championship.

Contrary to all the expectations, that saw the Clippers making it to at least the Western Conference Finals, they were knocked out by the Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals.

It was a disappointing end to the season for the Clippers which resulted in change of the head coach as Tyronn Lue replaced Doc Rivers.

Danny Green of the Los Angeles Lakers thinks that the Clippers players were cocky and that caused them the season.

Per Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation:

“I think the basketball Gods will humble you if you don’t play the game the right way or do the right thing. I mean, a lot of people say speak things into existence, which is cool I like that, you shouldn’t be as cocky or because a lot of times it’s going to go the opposite way, you know. Someway somehow, you know, things ironically it’s gonna turn out the way opposite of you talking [expletive].”
