Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo would look to join the Miami Heat if he decides to move on. That is according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Jackson has cited a source who claims that, while Oladipo would be happy to remain in Indiana on a big contract, the Heat would be his first option should he want to sever ties with the Pacers. The Heat, though, are reportedly solely focused on getting Giannis Antetokounmpo in their uniform next year and aren’t thought to be as high on Oladipo as he is on them.

“A source said Oladipo likes Indiana and would be happy staying there with a big new contract, but that if he were to leave, Miami would be No. 1 on his list,” Jackson writes. “But Heat interest will depend entirely on how he plays next season and Miami’s success in trying to lure a bigger fish.”

Victor Oladipo played just 19 regular-season games for the Pacers last season and averaged the lowest number of points since his rookie year at 14.5 per contest. As Jackson points out, he could fit the Heat’s backup plans if they don’t get the Greek Freak, but that would depend on his performances next season.
