The Philadelphia 76ers assistant Kevin Young agreed to terms to continue with Monty Williams in the Phoenix Suns bench, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Young began his career as a G League coach and was promoted to the Sixers’ staff in 2016. He then again gained promotion to the 76ers’ front of the bench, and then interviewed for Philadelphia’s head coaching job following Brown’s departure this year.
With new head coach Doc Rivers putting together his own staff, Young won’t be returning to Philadelphia for the 2020/21 season.
Monty Williams was also an assistant in the Sixers’ bench back in 2018, before taking over the reins in the Arizona desert. As a result, Young will reunite with Williams.
