Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant recently gave an interview to former NBA forward Dorell Wright on his talk show. KD was asked why he changed jersey number away from the No. 35 he wore with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.
Besides joining a new NBA organization, Durant shocked everybody last year when he announced he would wear a different number with the Brooklyn Nets. KD picked No. 7 as his new number “to honor someone very near and dear” to him.
“Wanted to try something new for this phase of my career plus ALL my favorite superstars rocked 2 numbers… Kob, Mike, Bron. Oh yea I can’t forget Melo,” said the two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP Kevin Durant.
