The Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel revealed that LeBron James asked for the assignment to guard Jamal Murray in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.

Murray, who played 45 minutes, was still the top scorer for the Denver Nuggets with 32 points, but it wasn’t enough for them to win. The Lakers won the game 114-108, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

“LeBron asked for the assignment and obviously I granted it. He did a great job down the stretch trying to contain him one-on-one. Murray had a great night. Nothing was really working to slow him down until LeBron took that assignment, so game ball to him for that move,” Vogel said.
