Kentavious Caldwell-Pope talked about the conflict of rest versus rhythm after Game 1. The Los Angeles Lakers had almost a week’s rest before they faced the Houston Rockets.

The rest had a negative impact on the team. They looked like they were not able to handle the speed that the Rockets brought forth. Caldwell-Pope wishes things were different.

According to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SN, he said:

“Just sitting down for how many games we did, not having game rhythm. If you’re not playing, it’s hard to get into rhythm. We did our best, and it wasn’t as bad as we thought it was (on film), but having days off, it’s hard to get into game rhythm.”

Caldwell-Pope and the Lakers conflict of rest versus rhythm should be water under the bridge now. They had the opportunity to break their legs in after the rest. The layoff is now over.
