The Liga Endesa off-season is gathering some of the gossip news on a Tuesday. Gran Canaria look to maintain the season they had last time out.
URTASUN MOVES TO GRAN CANARIA
Gran Canaria have signed 29-year-old Txemi Urtasun from Unicaja Malaga, in a press release.
Urtasun has signed a two-year deal with Gran Canaria who finished fifth in the Liga Endesa last season.
The point guard more than held his own in the Euroleague last season and averaged 6.5 points a game.
MURCIA SIGN BAMFORTH
UCAM Murcia have signed Scott Bamforth from Seville, as confirmed by he club.
Bamforth was a standout from Seville, as he averaged 10 points a game leading the team to an appearance in the post-season.
BILBAO PROVIDE ACB WITH DOCUMENTS
Financially unstable club Bilbao looked to have turned the corner in a last ditch attempt to play in the Liga Endesa next season.
The club’s official statement confirms their solvency and economic viability for the next season. They sent all the documentation demonstrating these facts and they’re ready to join the league next season.
The administration council has deposited all the resources necessary to the registration in ACB in their special warranty fund.
RUSSIA AND ITALY NAME SQUADS FOR EUROBASKET QR
Russia head coach Evgeny Pashutin has named his final squad for the Eurobasket 2015 Qualifying Rounds where they will face. Russia Italy and Switzerland.The players named are … Nikita Kurbanov, Pavel Antipov, Dmitry Kulagin, Pavel Korobkov, Yegor Vyaltsev, Dmitry Sokolov, Valery Likhodey, Andrey Zubkov, Dmitry Khvostov, Anton Ponkrashov, Timofey Mozgov, Sergey Karasev, Semen Antonov, Evgeny Voronov and Ivan Strebkov.
Italy have also named their final squad as well, as they look to do emulate their quarter-final position at last year’s Eurobasket.
