Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan confirmed that Domantas Sabonis is scheduled to return to the “bubble” today and will enter quarantine for a “few days”.

Sabonis left the NBA campus in late July due to plantar fasciitis and was without a timetable a couple of weeks ago.

The team originally didn’t rule out the possibility that he could return for the playoffs.

However, the Pacers would need to extend their series against the Miami Heat long enough to give Sabonis a chance to clear quarantine, as they are currently down 2-0.

Despite returning to Orlando, there’s reportedly no expectation that Sabonis will rejoin the active roster should the Pacers still be alive once he clears quarantine this week, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Sabonis was enjoying a career-year before the NBA restart, averaging 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 62 games.
