Tyronn Lue has emerged as a top candidate to replace Alvin Gentry and take over the New Orleans Pelicans, per Marc Stein of the New York Times.

Gentry parted ways with the Pelicans after failing to lead the team to the postseason for the fourth time in five years.

New Orleans will now start searching for Gentry’s replacement, with Lue and Jason Kidd being the ‘prime candidates’.

Lue is currently working as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers, while Kidd is the assistant of Frank Vogel in the Los Angeles Lakers.
