Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo joined the party during the Milwaukee Bucks blowout against the Washington Wizards. Late in the third quarter, the Antetokounmpo brother dunked on a defender and made the Bucks bench stand up in applause. The recipient of the baptizing was Anžejs Pasečņiks.

Antetokounmpo’s Mistake

Giannis made the news in a relatively easy win because he headbutted a Wizards player. The Bucks are locked in the first seed and they will most likely play the Orlando Magic in the first round. The Bucks have not played well in Orlando yet and seem like they are waiting until the playoffs to catch fire. The Thanasis dunk gave life to a dead team.

According to ESPN Giannis said this about the headbutt:

“Terrible action,” Antetokounmpo said. “If I could go back, turn back time and go back to that play, I wouldn’t do it. But at the end of the day, we’re all human, we all make mistakes. I think I’ve done a great job all year, in my career at keeping my composure and focus on the game, but at the end of the day, we’re human and make mistakes. But at the end of the day, you learn from it, keep playing good basketball and keep moving forward.”

Brotherly Love

The playoffs will be big for the Milwaukee Bucks. The team is coming off a disappointing season last year. The loss to the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals was a big blow. Giannis has been through a lot this season. The Bucks knew after an MVP win last year he would need help.

The Bucks added Giannis’ brother Thanasis this year to the team. He has helped Giannis with the tough times of the season like this game against Washington. The dunk like the one against the Wizards is why Thanasis is on the team.
