Kobe Bryant honored on cover of NBA 2K21

The third and final NBA 2K21 cover pays tribute to the late great Kobe Bryant with the “Mamba Forever” edition.

There will be two covers available, one for Bryant’s No. 8 jersey and one for his No. 24 jersey.

The current-gen edition artwork is from his 81-point performance in 2006:

The next-gen edition artwork is Bryant waving after scoring 60 points a decade later in his final NBA game:

A closer look at the painting process for the two covers:

Bryant joins Damian Lillard (current-gen) and Zion Williamson (next-gen) as the three cover athletes for 2K21.

“Each of our cover athletes represent different eras of the game of basketball—Damian Lillard dominates the court today, Zion Williamson is a standard-bearer for the next generation of NBA superstar and what more could be said about Kobe?” Alfie Brody, vice president of global marketing at NBA 2K, said about the three covers. “Three athletes representing the current, future and storied history of the game. Today’s exciting announcement is just the first of many for NBA 2K21; it’s going to be a huge year for basketball fans and NBA 2K gamers.”
