Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving will not join his team when the NBA season resumes in Orlando, according to the Nets general manager Sean Marks, as reported by Malika Andrews of ESPN.

The 28-year-old guard underwent a season-ending surgery on his injured shoulder back in February. Before that Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game for the Nets.

Brooklyn is among three Eastern Conference teams alongside Orlando and Washington who will be fighting for the last two playoff spots. The Nets are currently 7th in the East with 30 wins and 34 losses.

Recently it was announced that DeAndre Jordan and Spencer Dinwiddie tested positive for coronavirus. Jordan opted out of season resumption while Dinwiddie is expected to travel to Orlando.

The Nets will also be without Kevin Durant, Wilson Chandler and Nic Claxton.
