The Detroit Pistons general manager search came to an end with the hiring of the ex-Oklahoma executive Troy Weaver. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Weaver will be the next GM of the Detroit Pistons.
Weaver was formerly the vice president of basketball operations for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He had been in the OKC front office for 12 seasons, and he was promoted to his most recent role before the 2017-2018 season, per NBA.com.
He signed a four-year contract with the Pistons, who they are about to start “rebuilding” with Weaver taking over the project.
Detroit finished 20-46 and has the potential to land a top-10 pick in the coming draft.
