Allen Iverson led the Philadelphia 76ers to a shocking 107-101 overtime victory at the Los Angeles Lakers.

He finished with 48 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals. He famously crossed over Lakers guard Tyronn Lue, knocked down a shot and stepped over Lue. That shot gave the Sixers a 103-99 lead with less than one minute remaining in overtime. Iverson played 52:57 in the game.

Dikembe Mutombo also played well for Philadelphia. He finished with 13 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots. The Sixers outscored the Lakers by 14 points when he was in the game.

Shaquille O’Neal did everything he could for the Lakers but it wasn’t enough to get the victory. he finished with 44 points, 20 rebounds and five assists. Rick Fox had 19 points and Kobe Bryant had 15 points.

Despite Iverson’s heroics, Los Angeles won the series in five games. Game 1 of the NBA Finals was their only postseason loss in 2001.
