The president of CSKA Moscow, Andrei Vatutin, talked to Sport-Express about the “divorce” between CSKA and Kyle Hines.
“I must say with regret that the news of Kyle’s departure from CSKA is true,” said Vatutin. “Kyle called me and the coach this morning and he informed his teammates that he needed a new challenge, that he wanted to change the situation after seven successful seasons in Moscow.”
Hines had a contract with CSKA until 2021, but the player from the US needed a new challenge in his career.
“Of course, it’s difficult to come to terms with this news. Earlier, we wanted to extend our cooperation, but the player’s decision remained unchanged. We respect and understand the decision of a player who has given so much to CSKA, achieved great victories, and became a friend to each one of us. We wish him and his family health and success in this new chapter of his career.”
