The John Wall Family Foundation launched the “202 Assist” program that will provide rent assistance to D.C.’s Ward 8 residents.

It is a four week rent-relief fundraiser starting on May 22 and the goal is to raise $300,000 for those in need.

Ward 8 is an area that has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

“D.C. has been my second home for 10 years now, and I have always had a strong connection to the community,” Wall said in a press release. “After learning how COVID-19 has affected the residents of Ward 8, I felt that I needed to act which is why I have partnered with the city. I hope that others will join me to help those in need during these uncertain times.”

Wall continues to show acts of support through the coronavirus pandemic.

He previously donated masks and meals to D.C. and North Carolina hospitals in honor of his late mother.
