As the weekend ends and the “working” week begins, we start Sunday’s gossip column with a key move as a Eurocup champion moves to Greece.

LAFAYETTE COMPLETES MOVE TO OLYMPIACOS

Guard Oliver Lafayette has moved to 2012 and 2013 Euroleague winners Olympiacos from Eurocup winners Valencia.

Lafayette signs for the Greek giants on a two-year deal. The American helped Valencia win last season’s Eurocup as they beat favoured Unics Kazan. They also reached the semi-finals in the Liga Endesa only to lose out in five games to Barcelona.

MELO WILL OPT OUT

Yahoo Sports NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski has been known in recent years to break key NBA stories and he has reported that Carmelo Anthony will test the free agency waters this summer.

Anthony’s patience has run dry and he wants NBA titles now. He feels that he won’t get that in New York and wants to see if another team can bring him to the promised land.

He will be a free agent from July 1. Dallas, Chicago and Houston are among the teams showing interest.

STAUSKAS: “THERE’S NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT CAN DO WHAT I DO”

Michigan guard Nik Stauskas isn’t short of confidence as he finished a work out with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Talking to the media after his work out, Stauskas believes that he is a genuine Top 10 NBA Draft pick.

I believe so,” he says. “I think I offer a skill set that not many people have – the ability to really shoot it and put it on the floor and create for others. There’s parts of my game I’m working on, but offensively right now, I feel like there’s not a lot of people that can do what I do.”

DIXON STAYS AT KARISYAKA

American guard Bobby Dixon has re-signed for Pinar Karisyaka on a one-year deal.

Dixon averaged 14 points and 4.7 assists last season as Karisyaka ousted Anadolu Efes in the first round of the TBL Playoffs before bowing out at the semi-final stage.
