Our end-of-the-weekend gossip column takes us to France and beyond, where an NBA player might be resigning from his role of president of a third tier French club.

Diaw might leave Bordeaux … as President

San Antonio Spurs forward Boris Diaw is considering stepping down from his role of Team President of third division French side JSA Bordeaux.

He became President in 2010 and returned during the last NBA Lockout to help the team out. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in seven games.

Diaw is preparing for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Parker hopeful to play in Game 1 of the Finals

Staying with the Spurs and Diaw’s fellow Frenchman, Tony Parker is in positive spirits and is hopeful to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday.

Parker didn’t feature in the second half of San Antonio’s win in Game 6 at Oklahoma City Thunder but has been strengthening the injured ankle in hopes to play in the NBA Finals rematch.

Kevin Love to Boston … to see friends

Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders has said that Kevin Love WILL stay in Minnesota despite the forward saying that he will test the free agency market.

One of the destinations Love has shown interest in is the Boston Celtics, who are rebuilding after losing stars Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to Brooklyn and Miami, respectively.

Love is currently in Boston visiting friends and was recently seen at a Boston Red Sox baseball game with Celtics guard Rajon Rondo.

DJ Strawberry to sue Cibona

American DJ Strawberry is to sue Croatian club Cibona Zagreb to FIBA BAT over lack of monthly payments.

Strawberry claims that he is owed around $100,000 [€73,000]. The player was with Cibona from September 2012 to December when he left for France.
