The NBA season could possibly return during the summer, but the league has to deal with a good amount of unknowns, after the hiatus.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Adam Silver talked to players via a conference call on Friday in order to help them understand how the season will possibly resume.

Another huge concern of the coronavirus crisis is the financial impact it would have on players and teams.

Commissioner Silver described that matter as “the greatest challenge of our lifetime”, per Wojnarowski. As a result, ESPN’s Bobby Marks claimed on Twitter that the NBA and the players association “will essentially be negotiating a new CBA, when the time comes”.

The last Collective Bargaining Agreement was made in 2016. It was applied at the start of the 2017-18 season and runs through 2023-24, with a mutual opt-out after 2022-23.
