LaVar Ball’s interest in the Los Angeles Lakers ended with his son Lonzo leaving the team. Since the 22-year-old point guard was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans last summer, the Lakers turned into championship contenders. When asked if he is impressed by what the Purple and Gold are doing this season, LaVar replied in his own style.

He said the only thing he cares about is how his sons are doing. His youngest son, LaMelo, is expected to enter the NBA as one of the top picks of the 2020 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, middle son LiAngelo will try to make it through the G League.

“Am I impressed? No. I’m only impressed with what my sons are doing. I’m not worried about anybody else. I don’t care about them. I only care about only what my boys [are doing] first.”
